The Broadcaster was later renamed to the Fender Telecaster, nick named the Tele. Leo Fender also made another great invention during this time, the Fender Precision Bass. Finally, bass players could amplify their bass guitars.

Fender Telecaster
Although it was originally known as the Broadcaster, the Fender Telecaster is the original solid body electric guitar for the Fender guitars line. Today the Fender Telecaster still features it's classic design with the angled single coil pickup in the bridge and a chrome plated neck pickup. Most Telecasters have a maple neck with a rosewood or maple fretboard and the body is usually either ash or alder wood. The American Fender Telecaster is one of Fender's finest guitars.
Fender Stratocaster
The Fender Stratocaster was released in 1954 and has been one the most popular, influential and revolutionary guitars of all time. The Stratocaster was the first solid body electric to feature three pickups, it also featured a double cutaway body designed that dramatically improved the playability of a guitar. The Fender Stratocaster body design was so revolutionary and so popular, it has become one of the most replicated designs you can find.
An intersting fact about the Fender Stratocaster is that it was originally designed with a three way pickup switch. However, guitarists discovered they could balance the switch in between two positions to create a new sound. Fender took notice and incorporated the five way switch into Stratocasters. Similar to the Telecaster the Fender Stratocaster has a maple neck with either rosewood or maple fretboard, and the body is typically made of either Alder or Ash wood.
